Logistics & supply chain support

Packaging dimensions set freight cost in two legs: inbound to you and outbound to your customer. Optimising both at once is often the largest saving in a project.

What we plan

  • Pallet patterns for Euro and industrial pallets.
  • Units per carton, per pallet and per container.
  • Transport mode: road, sea or air based on time and cost.
  • Marking and documentation for goods receipt.

Volumetric weight and format

Carriers often price by volumetric weight, which means air inside the packaging costs money every time a shipment goes out. We work through formats against your actual products and propose dimensions that reduce volume without increasing damage risk.

Lead time and risk

Sea freight is cheapest but most time-sensitive; air is fastest and most expensive; road within Europe sits in between. We plan with margin ahead of the season and raise risks such as port congestion, public holidays in the production country and customs handling early. We give no guarantees on transit times.

Roles in the chain

The supplier manufactures and packs, the forwarder transports, a customs agent handles import where required, and VyPack coordinates information between the parties and checks that the delivery matches the order and specification.

Material, structure and finish in detail

We review board quality, thickness, fit, print technique and finishing with you and turn it into a specification a supplier can produce against.
