Return packaging
Return packaging must open without tools and reseal without tape. Two adhesive strips and a well-placed tear perforation are the whole mechanism, but they have to sit correctly.

How the mechanism works
The first adhesive strip seals the shipment at packing. The customer tears the box open along the perforation, leaving the second strip intact. For a return, the flap folds down and the second strip is used. The perforation has to sit far enough in not to damage contents, and near enough the edge for the box to keep its shape.
Structure and material
- B or BC flute corrugated to survive two transport legs.
- Reinforced corners since the box is handled more times.
- Strips with enough adhesive strength to hold on the return leg.
- A flat area for both outbound and inbound shipping labels.
Instructions for the customer
Returns run faster when the instruction is printed on the packaging: where to tear, where the second strip sits and where the return label goes. A short printed line on the inside is usually more effective than a loose card that gets thrown away.
Good to know
- MOQ around 250-300 units; strips and perforation affect price.
- Lead time normally 6-8 weeks after confirmed design.
- We recommend a physical sample since tear feel is hard to judge digitally.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
- Does the box really survive two journeys?
- With the right flute and reinforced corners, yes. We choose material from weight and transport mode and verify in samples.
- Can the same label area be used twice?
- We recommend two separate areas, or one area large enough for the return label to cover the first.
- Is return packaging more expensive?
- Slightly more per unit because of the extra strip and perforation, but it often lowers the total cost of handling returns.
- Does it work in letterbox formats?
- Yes, but height becomes limited. We check against carrier dimensions before the structure is locked.
